Web Programming

Web Programming is the general discipline of building content for the Internet (or for an intranet).

Where It Fits

If you want to build web sites, you need to have skills and knowledge in a variety of areas. Basic HTML and CSS, XML, JavaScript, PHP/SQL, and the Unix operating system are all reasonable skills and knowledge to expect a web programmer to have. From there, you might specialize in more advanced programming (for example, in JavaScript and/or PHP and SQL) and administration (Database Administration, Linux Systems Administration), and so on.
