PHP Programming

PHP (originally Personal Home Page; now PHP: Hypertext Preprocessor) PHP is a versatile server-side programming language that works hand-in-hand with front-end Web languages such as HTML and JavaScript. PHP can be used to create all types of dynamic web interfaces, and because of its open-source robustness, it has become one of the most widely used programming languages for the Internet. It is one of the first developed server-side scripting languages embedded into an HTML source document.

Where It Fits

PHP is part of the LAMP stack, a combination of free, open source software . If you need to program for the web, PHP is a very useful language to know, especially if you will deal with SQL databases.
