New C++ Course Available from the O'Reilly School of Technology
C++ 1: Introduction to C++Sebastopol, CA—Think C++ is an obsolete language? Think again: C++ jobs listed on sites like Monster and Dice number in the thousands. Gaining real-world skills in C++ not only helps you to land these jobs, but it also gives you a solid object-oriented programming foundation for languages like Java, Python, and C#.
As part of the upcoming four-course C++ Programming Certificate Series, OST has announced a new course designed to help current or aspiring C++ coders learn new skills, build experience, and earn a University Certificate, all online. C++ 1: Introduction to C++ is a self-paced, instructor-coached course offered through the O'Reilly School of Technology and the University of Illinois Office of Continuing Education.
C++ 1 Stresses Practical Programming with a Unique Approach
OST courses use a unique, constructivist learning technique in which the student is actively engaged in creating real projects while material is being presented, all the while being coached one-on-one by an instructor. With guidance from OST's courseware, students in C++ 1: Introduction to C++ build and fix C++ programs at their own pace within Ellipse™, OST’s Eclipse-based integrated learning environment.
Upon completion of C++ 1: Introduction to C++, students will earn 4 Continuing Education Units (CEUs) from the University of Illinois Office of Continuing Education. More importantly, they will have built an online portfolio of professional C++ projects that can be shown to potential employers looking for proof of experience.
In addition to the C++ course and upcoming Certificate series, the O'Reilly School of Technology currently offers Certificate courses in Python Programming, Database Administration, Perl Programming, Client-Side Web Programming, Linux/Unix System Administration, Java Programming, Web Programming, Open Source Programming, .NET Programming, and PHP/SQL Programming.
