Learn Perl for CGI Programming
Perl Programming for the Beginning or Intermediate Student
In this course, students will learn the programming aspects of Perl and CGI. Topics include variables, operators, hashes, arrays, control structures, forms, environment variables, parsing, POST and GET, regular expressions, functions, Perl modules, guestbooks, etc.
Upon completion of the course, students will earn 4 CEUs (Continuing Education Units) and a CEU letter from the University of Illinois Office of Continuing Education. This course counts toward both the Open Source Programming Certificate and the Web Programming Certificate.
From beginning to end, participants will learn by doing their own CGI and Perl based projects. These projects, as well as the final project, will add to the student's portfolio and will contribute to certificate completion. Besides a browser and internet connection, all software is provided online by the O'Reilly School of Technology.
