Linux/Unix 1: The Unix file system
Linux and Unix Training for the Complete I.T. Beginner
As the first course in the Linux/Unix System Administration Certificate series,
this course familiarizes students with the Linux and Unix environments and covers the
basics of system administration and user management. Students will learn and perform
on real Redhat Linux systems that are provided by OST and can be
accessed online.
Upon completion of the course, students will earn 4 CEUs (Continuing Education
Units) and a CEU letter from the University of Illinois Office of Continuing Education.
This course covers topics including: Navigating Linux/Unix file system, permissions,
text editors, shells, obtaining system info, pipes and grep, regular expressions,
symbolic and hard links, tar and gzip, SSH and telnet, syslog, cron, and managing
users.
