Client-Side Programming Certificate
The Client-Side programming Certificate series consists of three courses spanning basic web design and front-end web development through complex user interface management and creation of a professional website. You will learn the core technical skills necessary for a complete and practical understanding of front-end web development, from HTML and CSS to the JavaScript DOM and AJAX. Courses are delivered via the CodeRunner IDE and require only that you be online and able to use a browser.
Upon Completion of this certificate program, you will be able to:
- Create fundamental HTML elements and attributes including links, images, tables, forms, spans and divs, as well as some of the new HTML5 elements like section and article.
- Utilize Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) to control the look and placement of elements.
- Utilize JavaScript and the Document Object Model (DOM) to add and remove elements, create functions and events to respond to user input, validate forms, and use cookies to store and recall information.
- Apply AJAX and the HTTP request object to communicate with both XML documents and Perl scripts.
- Create scripts that interact with the Google Maps API.
This series will give you the skills and experience needed to create rich user experiences on the Web, from beginning HTML to web services and social media APIs. Upon completion, not only will you have earned CEUs and a Certificate of Professional Development, but you will also have built and attractive, robust website that can be displayed as part of your professional portfolio.
Prerequistes: No prerequisite skills or programming experience is required.
